The opening of the University of Calabar Youth Friendly Hub on the 1st day of December 2021 by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Florence Obi was herald with joy. The UniCal Youth-Friendly Hub is a deliberate investment in a safe space that provides the timing youthful population of over 40,000 students with quality access to mental, sexual and reproductive health services and other life skills and competencies for health and development. Located in Hall 10 (Special Hostel) the vast space was furnished with an initial material donation from USAID through the Integrated Child Health and Social Service Award (ICHSSA Lot -1) implemented by CCCRN and technical support from UNFPA and the Cross River State Agency for the Control of AIDS. During the opening ceremony, the Cross River State Government, UNFPA and USAID Implementing Partners commended the University Management for the strategic contribution to youth access to health and development services.
