An inception meeting aimed at introducing the UN-Spotlight Initiative’s Prevention of Campus Sexual Violence Programme was hosted by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Florence Obi on June 16th.  The Spotlight initiative is the largest global support for eliminating violence against women. The initiative is delivered through six pillars that include the development of laws and policies that speaks towards GBV, institutional strengthening to facilitate response to GBV, prevention of GBV, service provision, data, and building women’s movements to be able to advocate, prevent and respond to GBV. The Prevention of Campus Sexual Violence Programme's support in Nigeria stems from a 2019 BBC documentary (the sex for grades). The UN-Women team was pleased with the level of the institutional readiness for the project.
